Powering B2B Commerce Transformation at QLAR

QLAR transformed its global B2B spare parts business by launching a self-service Adobe Commerce platform while executing a seamless mid-project rebrand. Customers in industrial sectors can now configure products, get instant quotes, and place orders within minutes—without disrupting existing workflows.

The Challenge

Before the transformation, QLAR’s industrial customers ordered via phone or email, waiting days for quotes and risking costly downtime. The company needed to launch a fast, scalable digital channel and migrate to a new global brand identity—without interrupting service, disrupting ERP/CRM workflows, or losing SEO equity.

The Scenario

In heavy industry, a single delayed spare part can halt production. QLAR’s offline ordering model created bottlenecks and manual inefficiencies. The 2024 rebrand to “QLAR” added complexity—every digital touchpoint needed to reflect the new identity overnight. The challenge was to modernize the customer journey while ensuring uninterrupted operations, preserving existing procurement processes, and protecting long-built search rankings.

The Solution

B2B Commerce & Brand Transition Without Downtime

Comwrap Reply designed and delivered a global B2B commerce platform on Adobe Commerce Cloud that completely redefined how QLAR’s industrial customers source, configure, and purchase spare parts. The platform was built to address immediate operational bottlenecks while creating a scalable foundation for future growth.

End-to-End Digital Buying Journey
The new platform digitizes the spare parts purchasing process from product discovery to delivery. Customers can search a comprehensive online catalog containing thousands of SKUs across QLAR’s industrial product portfolio—complete with technical specifications, compatibility information, and downloadable documentation. Advanced search and filtering tools allow engineers and procurement teams to quickly find the exact parts they need, even in urgent situations.

Instant Quotes & Configurations
Integrated product configurators enable customers to tailor components to their specific operational requirements. Once configured, the system instantly generates an accurate, customer-specific quote—reducing the traditional quote-to-order process from several days to a matter of minutes. Quotes can be converted into orders directly within the platform, with real-time shipping cost calculation and delivery estimates integrated from carrier APIs.

B2B Purchasing Aligned with Existing Processes
Recognizing that industrial procurement often relies on established workflows, the solution supports invoice-based checkout using customers’ existing credit terms. This ensures adoption by removing friction and preserving familiar processes. The platform also offers account dashboards where customers can view order history, track shipments, save frequently purchased items, and receive AI-driven product recommendations for compatible or related products—driving both customer satisfaction and upsell opportunities.

Zero-Downtime Global Rebrand Execution
In parallel to the commerce implementation, Comwrap Reply orchestrated a mid-project rebrand from Schenck Process to QLAR. This included a full UI redesign to reflect the new brand identity, content migration, and a domain transition to qlar.com. Through careful planning—using a staging environment, automated CI/CD deployment pipelines, comprehensive regression testing, and a 301 redirect strategy—the rebrand was deployed with no downtime, no broken links, and zero SEO loss.

Scalable, Future-Proof Architecture
The solution was designed for global scale and rapid enhancement. Adobe Commerce was upgraded to the latest version to ensure maximum performance, security, and extensibility. The architecture supports multi-language, multi-currency, and localized catalogs, enabling phased expansion into additional markets without redevelopment.
Integration with SAP ERP provides real-time pricing, availability, and order synchronization, while CRM integration ensures customer-specific pricing and permissions. Carrier API integrations offer live shipping rates and automated tracking updates. By leveraging Adobe I/O Events and App Builder, QLAR can now trigger event-driven workflows—such as automated fulfillment updates or personalized product recommendations—without impacting site performance.

Security, Compliance, and Reliability
Built-in role-based access controls ensure that only authorized business customers can access sensitive data such as pricing and order history. The platform is fully GDPR-compliant, and all customer interactions are protected by modern encryption standards. Continuous performance monitoring and proactive application of Adobe Commerce security patches ensure long-term stability and customer trust.

With this approach, QLAR achieved a seamless transition from a legacy offline sales model to a modern, always-on, self-service commerce channel, reinforcing its new brand identity and positioning itself as a digital leader in the industrial B2B market.

How we did it

Delivering QLAR’s digital transformation required a carefully orchestrated program that balanced rapid delivery with rigorous quality control, all while maintaining uninterrupted service for a global industrial customer base. We began with a discovery and alignment phase, working closely with QLAR’s global leadership, sales, IT, and marketing teams to define business objectives, identify operational constraints, and map customer journeys across different industries and regions. These workshops revealed critical user needs—such as invoice-based payments, quick product reordering, and technical product documentation—that became foundational requirements for the new platform.

From there, we moved into solution architecture and technical design, selecting Adobe Commerce Cloud as the core platform for its flexibility, scalability, and ability to integrate deeply with QLAR’s existing enterprise systems. Our architects designed a modular, API-first architecture, ensuring SAP ERP, CRM, and shipping carrier integrations could be established without creating dependencies that would slow future enhancements. We implemented GraphQL and REST endpoints for high-performance data exchange, allowing real-time updates for product pricing, stock levels, and customer-specific terms.

The build phase followed an agile methodology with sprint-based releases. We configured Adobe Commerce with a fully customized B2B feature set, developed advanced product configurators, and built account dashboards tailored to industrial procurement workflows. To prepare for the upcoming brand transition, we adopted a “design once, implement twice” strategy—developing the initial commerce experience with a neutral skin while building the QLAR brand identity in parallel, so that rebranding could be executed with minimal disruption.

A critical part of delivery was integration testing. We created a staging environment mirroring production, where we validated every integration point—from SAP order synchronization to CRM authentication—under real-world transaction volumes. Our CI/CD pipeline automated deployments and regression testing, significantly reducing release risk and enabling frequent, safe updates.

When the time came for the mid-project rebrand and domain migration, we followed a precision cutover plan. DNS changes, SSL certificate updates, and 301 redirects were preconfigured and tested to preserve SEO equity. Automated scripts handled URL mapping, and comprehensive regression testing ensured all features—from login and search to quoting and checkout—were fully operational before go-live. The cutover was executed during low-traffic hours and completed without downtime, ensuring customers around the globe could continue to order without interruption.

Post-launch, we established a continuous optimization loop. Analytics data is now used to refine navigation, improve product search relevance, and identify upsell opportunities. Performance monitoring tools alert the support team in real time to any anomalies, and the CI/CD process enables rapid rollout of enhancements without compromising stability.

This disciplined, integrated approach—combining deep platform expertise, strong governance, and a zero-downtime execution strategy—enabled QLAR to transition seamlessly from a traditional offline sales model to a global, self-service digital commerce channel that is both future-proof and aligned with its new brand identity.

The Results

The QLAR digital transformation delivered a seamless rebrand and platform migration with zero downtime, preserving customer trust and avoiding revenue loss. The new Adobe Commerce-powered B2B portal reduced the quote-to-order cycle from days to minutes, enabling customers to source critical parts faster and improving operational uptime.

24/7 availability and self-service tools increased global customer engagement, while integrated workflows with SAP and CRM improved internal efficiency and reduced order processing errors. The platform not only unlocked a new revenue stream but also positioned QLAR as a digital pioneer in its industry, laying a scalable foundation for future innovation and global expansion.
